You will produce a Kickstarter campaign to produce the second version of a popular iPhone app, Silent Bodyguard, and you will receive a significant portion of the proceeds.

BACKGROUND:

In 2008, Fun at Work, created an app called Silent Bodyguard, a silent panic-button devoted to the safety of women, kids and anyone that walks alone or feels vulnerable.  It was featured by Apple in the early days of the App Store, in 2009, and has been downloaded over 50,000 times.  In 2011, Apple implemented some privacy guidelines that conflicted with the location tracking at the heart of Silent Bodyguard (this app, when triggered, silently sends your location every 60 seconds via text to your pre-designated emergency contacts).  So we had to take it off the market until we could re-engineer the app.

This is a huge market, and there are many people who have expressed interest in the project.  It will take a significant of engineering resources to rebuild the app from the groundup, but I believe with our database of past users and so many potential customers, we can get funding through Kickstarter.  We have compelling ideas and a email list of over 15,000 users.

Your job will be to manage every aspect of the kickstarter campaign over the several months it will take to plan, promote and execute it. You’ll be given a limited budget to pay for a new promo video and graphic design.

I anticipate that this will be a part-time job requiring less than 8 hours per week over a few months.

Base pay is $500 for the project AND a percent of the Kickstarter proceeds.  I’d like to start by asking for $15,000, and you will receive 20% of whatever the project makes (a bonus of an additional 10% if the raised funds goes over $50,000).

I’m hoping to find someone young, ambitious, and very talented.  Here are some qualifications that I think would make an excellent candidate, but I’m willing to review resumes from people who have other experiences:

• You have demonstrated the ability to market a product, organization or service to an audience in a focused and appealing way and can demonstrate that with examples
• You have raised money from people with printed or digital material that you can provide as examples
• You are digital savvy and can search out the best resources for exposure, PR and help for this project.
• You have examples of talented writing for marketing or development purposes.
